While it is interesting a “re-do” of evolution may result in development of the same species, I’m having a hard time believing that the same individuals would exist within the species - all it would have taken would be a missed chance encounter between ancestors in my family line, one of my ancestors dying in childhood, one different choice that might have changed when two ancestors had sex, etc, that would have completely changed the development of the family line. Extrapolating that across time, and across the population, given many people share common ancestry, I’m pretty certain I would never have been born, let alone anyone else, and the world would now be populated with entirely different individuals. Thoughts?
